Gjakova

Wow, look at that souvenir!! It is an exact copy of the photo of Kurt Hielscher!! Count the people on it. They are standing on the same place!

The souvenir shop.

On the early morning of Sunday the 17th of June 2018, I left Prizren. It would become a pretty busy day with visits throughout Kosovo ending the day in Skopje. Soon I was stopped by a police officer for speeding, but he left me with a warning and I moved on with an easier pace, but still it was only 8.30 AM when I arrived in Gjakova and all shops, bars and restaurants were still closed at that time, but personnel was preparing for the day to begin. Though it felt special to stroll around in such a calm city, it really was a pity that I had to leave early too. And, I never found the bridge I think. I did find Taliqi bridge, but I am not sure. Stronger: I don't think this is the right bridge.

Because of the new bridge next to it, there was no possibility I could have taken the same photo. Pity that the shop was still closed this early Sunday morning. I might have bought the souvenir. I can not recall why I did not ask anyone. I do remember that there was really no one on the streets so that's probably the reason.

After Gjakova, I hurried to busy Peja and the stunning Visoki Dečani Monastery.
